Junior Academics International Network on End of Life (JAINEoL)
We, Iris Parra Jounou (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, moral and political philosophy), Perrine Galmiche (Université Paris-Saclay, bioethics and public health), and Pia Dittke (Universität Münster, medical law), met at the 4th International Conference on End-of-Life Law, Ethics, Policy, and Practice (ICEL4) in Utah. The three of us had flown to Salt Lake City, Utah, USA, to meet other researchers and be part of an international network. On the last day of the conference, we had lunch together, and decided to do something crazy. Why don’t we create an international network for early careers? Please, come in. We want to share our ideas with you!
Objectives
This project aims to create a network for early career researchers from all personal and scientific backgrounds working on end-of-life issues. We believe that, especially in end-of-life research, we can all benefit from each other’s knowledge and work and that we, as early career researchers, should have a platform where we all feel free to share and develop our (early) work. With JAINEoL, we can build alliances between countries, share research interests, and be research partners.
Who can join?
JAINEoL is open to early career researchers from all backgrounds and countries who are currently working on end-of-life issues. By early career researchers, we mean everyone between their research master and postdocs or lecturers (up to 5 years after finalization of PhD). The primary language of communication will be English.
What expects you when filling out the registration form?
We plan to have a first online-meeting around September 2024 to get to know each other, exchange ideas for the network, wishes and in general every thought about how to get the ball rolling (further). If you decide to fill out the form, we will keep you updated on our early development, you will receive the invitation to our first meeting and then you’re part of the team (if you want)!
Further information can be found in our welcome-flyer.
