The discourse and practices surrounding surrogacy differ greatly internationally. Countries with more liberal regulatory approaches in Europe and elsewhere have become popular destinations for transnational surrogacy arrangementsin recent years. Other countries seek to confine surrogacy within their own borders and to prevent the commercialisation of such practices. Our conference aims to provide an opportunity to engage with experiences from a variety of contexts to foster a fruitful, informed and diverse ethical debate in Germany. We will placea particular focus on the question of justice in surrogacy relationships.
The conference is aimed at researchers, infertility and family counsellors, policy makers as well as the general public.
