Time: 8th November 2023, 16:30-18:00 CET
Venue: Klinikum rechts der Isar (MRI), Conference room 1, Ismaninger Straße 22, 81675 Munich and Online (via Zoom)

According to the IPCC Report from March 2023 climate change is a threat to human well-being and planetary health. There is a rapidly closing window of opportunity to secure a liveable and sustainable future for all. The harmful impact on health is multifaceted, and unequally distributed. This talk will focus on potential questions arising in relation to ethics and justice. The first part will map the spectrum of relevant questions in the form of brief and illustrative case studies. In the second part two conceptual questions will be discussed in more detail: Do we need a new medical ethos for physicians that takes these dimensions better into account? And might we even need a new bioethics altogether?
Speaker: Prof. Dr. Verina Wild, Director Institute for Ethics and History of Health in Society (IEHHS), Universität Augsburg
